Comparison

WhatWebCo vs Outscraper

One sells data by the record. The other turns a postcode into a pipeline you can work on Monday morning. Here's the honest difference — including where Outscraper is the better buy.

The short version

A data source, not a sales tool

Outscraper is a scraping platform. You give it a query, it gives you records — at scale, worldwide, through a UI or an API, priced per row. If what you need is a large volume of raw Google Maps data to load into something you've already built, it does that well and cheaply.

WhatWebCo isn't trying to beat that on price per record, and it can't. It answers a different question: who in this postcode is worth calling on Monday, and which of them am I allowed to email? The data arrives already enriched, flagged and sitting in a pipeline with an owner.

The gap between a row and a lead

A scraped record tells you a business exists. These tell you whether to call it, and what to open with.

Which system they run

Every website is checked for booking, EPOS and payment platforms. A salon already on a competitor's system is a displacement pitch; one running nothing is a different conversation entirely.

Whether you can email them

Each lead is checked against Companies House and flagged emailable or call-only. UK law treats limited companies and sole traders differently, and most scraped lists mix the two freely.

Somewhere to work it

Leads land in a pipeline with owners, notes, tasks and sequences — rather than a CSV you still have to import somewhere before anyone can call anybody.

How pricing compares

Different shapes, so per-record maths only goes so far. Check Outscraper's current rates directly — theirs vary by data type and volume.

Per record, Outscraper is cheaper — by a lot. The question is what happens to those records next, and who does the work in between.

Which one is actually right for you

Choose WhatWebCo if...

  • You sell to UK high-street businesses by postcode or territory
  • You want to know which booking or EPOS system a prospect already runs
  • You need to know who you can lawfully email before you send
  • You'd rather work a pipeline than manage exports and spreadsheets

Choose Outscraper if...

  • You need raw data at high volume and the lowest cost per record
  • You're pulling data outside the UK
  • You have your own CRM and enrichment already built
  • You want API access to wire scraping into your own tooling

Outscraper is a capable product and this comparison isn't trying to suggest otherwise — it's built for a different job. Details of their pricing and features change; check their site for the current position.
